Get recreational fish species information on the go with the NZ Fishing Rules App. The application helps you to identify recreational fish species common in your area through images, then displays relevant information such as the minimum legal size, maximum daily limits and area bag limits. Short videos embedded within the application show how to release undersize fish correctly and also how to measure/determine the sex of crayfish. Local notices will give you updates on any temporary closures in the area.

Fish id is next to useless. Sure photo id can filter to candidates, instead of user have to scroll thumbnail images trying to find match... If user clicks though fish species to closures there is no way back to select another species other than restarting the whole drill down process again (time waster feature?)

Thanks David, we're looking into this issue at the moment. The intention is to be able to use this to quickly identify a number of fish species.

Would be great if the App could be made to work offline, many harvesting spots are out of good coverage areas and makes checking your limits difficult or impossible. Please look into this. Also struggles to get past the disclaimer page on a regular basis.

Thanks Jelte, the app does work offline. It would be great if you can email support@mogeo.co.nz and let us know how you're experiencing this. Also, if you're able to update to the latest version we have increased the performance of the issue you raise.

App worked great prior to latest update. Now app closes immediately after opening. Feedback sent on issue and no response. Very disappointing.
